What makes AI Powered Search work.

The everyday search blends exact-word matching (keyword search) with search by meaning (semantic search) and merges the two into one well-ordered list — a method called reciprocal-rank fusion. Because that ranking needs no AI engine, the default search runs entirely on your machine and is AirTight-safe. The optional AI extras — more careful re-ranking and a short, cited answer — are off by default, routed through your gateway, and egress-gated; they are not always on, and not always local. Search by meaning covers the items prepared for it today; word-for-word and tag search span everything — wider meaning-based coverage is a deliberate later step.
